- Love is a verb. If we believe that love is a noun, then we think that it can be traded, given, withheld, sought after, possessed and lost, leaving us at the mercy of another’s whims or of life circumstances, which often generate feelings of scarcity concerning love. If, on the other hand, we know love as a verb, then giving or receiving it are ultimately the same and love is both inexhaustible and infinite. We are in control of the love in our lives, not others. Loving is therefore a conscious act of creation and not some thing or even an emotion that controls us. Just as our identity is not fixed into any limiting form, neither is the Love that we are.
